Castello La Leccia lies at Castellina in Chianti, with a history documented as far back as 1077. The estate passed to the Sonderegger family in 2018 and today combines its long history with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and organic viticulture.
The estate extends across approximately 170 hectares, including 17 hectares of vineyards. Its vines occupy five different sites around the castle, at elevations between approximately 300 and 500 metres, predominantly facing south and southwest. Clay-rich, limestone-influenced soils and differences between the individual sites provide the basis for different expressions of Sangiovese.
Organic farming is integral to the estate's approach, with work intended to encourage soil life, biodiversity and the natural balance of the vineyard.

The relationship with Castello La Leccia began with a visit to the estate and time spent with Elena.
What stood out was not simply the wines, but a shared view of how a producer relationship should develop. During the visit Elena offered two pieces of advice that stayed with Sipsense: "Don't rush." "This is a long-term relationship."
Those sentiments closely reflect the philosophy behind Sipsense: selecting producers carefully and developing markets and partnerships patiently rather than simply accumulating wines.

The natural introduction to Castello La Leccia and its interpretation of Chianti Classico. Produced from Sangiovese grown across estate vineyards, it is intended to express freshness, red fruit and versatility while retaining the structure expected of the denomination.

A step upward in depth and development, allowing the page to show the progression within the estate's Chianti Classico range without introducing unrelated wines.
Bruciagna Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione
Sangiovese
Bruciagna is the summit of the three-wine selection and the clearest expression of an individual site. The vineyard lies at approximately 500 metres, making it particularly useful in communicating the relationship between altitude, site and Sangiovese at Castello La Leccia.
