I Fabbri

Fig. 3 The terraces, Lamole
I Fabbri is based in Lamole, in the hills above Greve in Chianti. The Grassi family traces its connection with Casole and this land to 1620, when the property came into the family. The estate describes eleven generations tied to the same place.
Susanna Grassi returned to the family property at the end of the 1990s after studying economics and working in fashion. In 2000 she founded I Fabbri, bringing the estate back into direct family management with the aim of producing traditional, place-led wines.
Today the estate has approximately six hectares of vineyard at elevations of roughly 450 to 680 metres. Altitude is a defining strength of Lamole, contributing freshness and elegance to its Sangiovese.

I found that humility reflected in everything, from the vineyards of Lamole to the remarkable elegance of your wines.
The Sipsense relationship with I Fabbri began with a visit to Lamole and time spent with Susanna and Vittorio.
The most memorable idea from the visit was their desire not to let the hand of the winemaker show too strongly in the finished wine, but instead to allow the terroir to speak for itself.
I found that humility reflected in everything — from the vineyards of Lamole to the remarkable elegance of your wines.
